  1. Abhinav –

    Maybe the best Assassin’s Creed!!
Dear Amazon users,Please bear with me as this review is a bit long.Amazon’s delivery and packaging were excellent as usual and I received some DLCs as well. And now coming to the game:This game is an absolute blast to play. The parkour is much better and the combat is also very good. Though the combat difficulty is moderate, it is fun and unlike unity it is not to tough or like earlier installments not to easy. The story is also fine. But the character development is quite strong in this game and the overall tone of the game remains comical. The performance on PS4 is quite good after the 540MB patch and about the graphics–Many say that it is downgraded in comparison to unity, but it does not hold true. I have AC Unity on PS4 and after playing both the games Syndicate’s graphics have a slight edge. The reason people think that Unity’s graphics were better because the color tone of Unity’s Paris and Syndicate’s London is quite different and London looks a bit gloomy or washed out or whatever in comparison to Paris. But if you have played the Dead Kings DLC of Unity and then compared it with Syndicate, then Syndicate looks much better. Another reason is that Syndicate’s graphics are almost identical(though a bit better) and people were expecting a graphical leap like from Black Flag to Unity and their expectations were not met because if you have played all the Assassin’s Creed games, you would have observed that the graphics only get a bit better on one console generation and then there is a big leap in the next console generation(AC1 to ACBF on PS3, all had roughly the same graphics quality,But Unity a PS4 exclusive looked 10x better). Also removing multiplayer and adding additional features in the game was a welcome change. Now coming to the point why I think this is the best Assassin’s Creed is because:1) AC1 was good but got boring after some time for me.AC2 was very good in it’s time. But now if you go back and then play it it would feel outdated and moreover since 2009 great story oriented games like The Last of Us have come so AC2’s doesn’t seem all that great like it used to be at that time. Just a simple revenge story. The next games I will mention about will not be about story because in comparison to all other games AC2 has the best story so far and after AC3, the story of AC franchise has gone haywire.2)Brotherhood was just like AC2 but with online multiplayer (which I generally don’t play) and more horses and gangs. Revelations was a welcome change but it became boring after some time and I completed that game just for the sake of completing.3)AC3 was the worst game in the series and I hated naval battles in that game and in Black Flag they implemented more naval battles and hence I did not like both of them.3)Unity,which most people love to hate, was a good game. By keeping the bugs aside, Unity changed a lot of things were good. The combat felt real and forced you to run away or hide like an Assassin and not a warrior. Plus it’s sandbox approach and RPG like customizations was also very good. Arno’s character was good and the parkour system was exceptional. In fact I got Unity after a price drop and after a 7GB patch, I had a blast with it. I spent so much time playing it that i reached the rank of Elite Master(just before the final rank Legend) and then i moved onto MGS V.4) So coming to Syndicate, the story is OK but it has a comical tone which is very interesting. The lead characters Jacob and Evie are diverse and their constant differences and arguments pretty much sums up for strong character development in this one. The graphics can be considered good in today’s times. The game is very polished and the bugs are ironed out and even the patch is small 540MB(as compared to Unity’s 6.57GB!!!). The combat is well balanced, the open world is fun,the sandbox approach is way more polished and transportation is a lot improved(horse carriages, the most awesome AC2 set piece now implemented in the open world) and rope launcher is a time saver and it also doesn’t restrict you to enjoy the old building climbing. Moreover the carriages are also not forced in each and every mission like most of the missions Batman Arkham Knight forces you to use the Bat-mobile and character customization is a lot improved and there is a better way to earn skill points than in Unity. And moreover the side quests are not boring. And the loading time is a bit less than Unity, but it is a well known fact that Assassin’s Creed games have terrible loading times (30seconds or more approx)on consoles. So for me this game is well worth 3499.Now coming to the second part, there are a lot of people who haven’t played this game and are spreading fake negative reviews about this game. Most people don’t look into the comments section of game reviewing sites to see the haters, but people do look for product reviews on online shopping websites like Amazon or Flipkart before buying the product and these people also spread their fake reviews on these sites due to which people don’t buy and that in turn damages the company and becomes a threat to the employment of lots of hard working people. Even I don’t like some franchises, but I don’t go about spreading fake hatred because I know that to create every game, it require a lot of hardworking people. There should be a method from which it would become clear if the review is real or fake.It is not necessary that it should be an Amazon verified purchase but the reviewers should put up their PSN or Xbox or Steam ID or Uplay or EA Orign or Rockstar Club…..the list is endless. So that it can be verified that this user has purchased the game and have played it. Otherwise their review shouldn’t be uploaded. I am not saying that this will stop hatred of sorts, but it would be much better and there will be some people who will still buy the game, install it and then post the comments to show their hatred(or it maybe genuine in some cases), but the companies and the developers won’t have to suffer losses.I would not say that Syndicate is perfect but ripping on it for the issues like repetitive or bugs isn’t correct because all the games suffer from these issues. No one rips on Fallout 3 or Skyrim for their extremely bad performance on PS3 and till now it has not been fixed,Everyone accepts it as a Bethesda game and let the severe technical issues pass. But if assassin’s creed unity has some bugs(which were all eventually ironed out), the whole series becomes a glitch fest. About being repetitive, which game isn’t repetitive, at some point or the other, every game becomes repetitive.Or about the game mechanics,it is common sense that if they change the core mechanics,it would not be the same game and people would still complain.I don’t know what problem people have if AC comes every year and calling Ubisoft greedy isn’t correct because it is not a non profit organization and no one bothers with COD or FIFA as they are literally the same game every year and every game of every franchise is the same game as the previous title if you put it in that perspective. So according to that logic, people should stop purchasing games. Finally I would like to say that please don’t be biased towards this because it is an Assassin’s Creed game and you would enjoy it a lot more. And if you are an AC fan like me, then your enjoyment will increase 10 folds.Hope you find my review helpful.

An imperfect but much-needed revival of the franchise
First of all, props to the seller for an early delivery – I selected two-day delivery for Rs.50, but received the item in less than 24 hours. Great work! Now to the game. While I consider myself a fan of the series, Unity was the first title I skipped, only because of its shambolic launch. I’m happy to report there are no major launch issues with this game, though you WILL see glitches here and there. Nevertheless, this is an engrossing, vast game with TONS of stuff to do. The Victorian London setting is easily the most “modern” that we’ve seen in the series so far. While it certainly lacks the visual beauty of Black Flag’s Caribbean locales or the AC2 arc’s Italian cities, it makes up for this by being the most convincing recreation of a living city in the series so far. Climb up to a vantage point, and you’ll see people, animals and carriages hustling about in a very lifelike manner. The voice acting is great, and very true to the spirit of the setting. The twin protagonists are easily the biggest step forward that this series has ever taken. Make no mistake, this is no GTA V – transitions between the two characters are very artificial. Nevertheless, it’s great fun setting the two characters on different paths (I’m maxing out Evie’s stealth tree, while I want Jacob to be a full-on tank with combat and “ecosystem” stats). Another thing that really stands out is the return of the game’s focus to core assassinations – this is probably the most assassination-focused game since AC1, which is still my favourite. Only, this game gives you far more options to approach the assassination areas, and you really feel like a skilled master assassin, sneaking about silently and raining death and destruction upon the bad guys from high above. All that said, it’s truly annoying just how many of the series’ missteps remain here. Story missions begin and end very abruptly, instead of smoothly transitioning from the open world – again, GTA V was a masterclass in this. Many mission cutscenes give you very little context, and the mission prompt often feels like it has nothing to do with the preceding cutscene. This has been the case for a few games now, and I’m very surprised that Ubisoft hasn’t put any work into making the transitions to and from the story missions more organic and less artificial. The graphics, while achieving truly impressive technical feats like massive draw distances, were a bit of a letdown to me – the game doesn’t look like a current gen-only title. Facial animations, especially lip syncing, are weak. According to me, the series has taken a step back by doing away with the companion app – this would have been a great way to catch up on the game’s voluminous database entries while away from the screen. But in sum, I’m happy I decided to dive back in to the series. Though it comes with all the baggage and hamfistedness of an annualized AAA franchise, this series shines at doing what no other game does at present – immerse us in a different, new, richly imagined and detailed historical setting year after year. And with a fun cast of characters and a genuine step forward in gameplay with two protagonists, that makes this year’s entry worth the price of admission.

  3. Rakesh Choukse –

One of the Best Assassin’s Creed Game
Bought this game for 800rs it is worth every penny, even relevant in 2024. Got the dreadful crimes DLC with it for free which has 10 hours of extra gameplay. But it does not contain season pass so think before you buy.You won’t get other DLC like jack the ripper, the last maharaja, etc which comes with season pass.Overall had a great experience buying this the delivery date was bit a long stretch, but received the CD perfectly fine and game is also working fine got the Code with it for DLC.

  4. Aaditya –

Great game. Assassin’s Creed is back on track.
Syndicate is Unity done right in many ways except one – it is too easy. Still, it is a really fun game. Graphical fidelity is amazing, and it maintains a constant 30fps unlike Unity. The story is linear, but Crawford Starrick is a great villain. I really love Evie and her stealth skills – Ubi did well with twin assassins!PSA: You have to download a ~700mb update and this is an Indian region edition (Unlike AC Unity) which means your DLCs and season passes work (I tried it). The Dreadful Crimes code worked for me!This game is really worth it and Jack the Ripper is one of the best DLCs. Be sure to get the season pass!

  5. Amazon Customer –

Middling addition to the AC series.
I bought this with high expectations but was disappointed instead. While some of the hallmarks of Assassin’s Creed games still remain (freerunning, stealth, murder), Syndicate fails to correct many of the issues that plagued its predecessors. It is further let down by a poor story and a terrible protagonist in Jacob Frye, as well as generally uninteresting allies and antagonists alike. Fans of the AC franchise will likely detest this game but as a stand-alone, Syndicate is a good open-world game that offers a lot to do, even if those activities are less than stellar in terms of originality.

OK. Good graphics but so so play
